We set out to create a biometric verification program that would increase customer satisfaction regardless of application, helping users move through the checkout process on ecommerce platforms more quickly, limiting fraud interactions and assisting merchants in understanding the people behind their product.

Our team designed a sleek and user-friendly prototype, which turned out to be functional but not as user-friendly as we hoped. We went back through the process, rearranged some screens in the design’s flow, made improvements to buttons and content, made new interactive prototype and saw our conversion rates go from 10 to 100 percent.

Once the prototypes were all good we began crafting an app for mobile devices with a next-level user interface, an easy-to-use setup program and a simple but sleek process for a variety of transactions.
Crafting Mobile Onboarding Screens
After downloading the app, users are taken through a few introductory screens. We saw this as a huge opportunity to set the tone for the next steps, so my team and I spent time designing consistent and striking images and making sure that the branding was noticeable and enticing along the way.
Randomized User profile placeholders avatars
Boring profile placeholders? Not here, my friends. In an effort to keep users intrigued – before they customize the app for themselves – we paid close attention to what images would be randomly assigned to users. I fashioned the images to be consistent in their aesthetic while staying on-brand with the rest of the design.

Follow-Up Emails Designed to Continue the Story
My team and I carefully designed the emails that users receive during the experience, keeping images, fonts, colors and other design aspects consistent while, along the way, demonstrating the benefits of using a life-changing app like Mati.
A Merchant Dashboard for a Next-Level Web Experience
Users are important (obviously) but most software has two sides: the user and the merchant. Mati was no different, so we wanted to make sure that merchants would feel comfortable on their end, too. We designed the merchant dashboard to be simple but elegant, staying tight on branding elements and allowing a little whimsy wherever possible. Plus, merchants could chart purchases, see customer info and manage their own financials.
